Dubai: Former world number one Dustin Johnson will head a 42-member field for the inaugural $25 million LIV Golf Invitational Series event in England next week, the Saudi-backed golf circuit said Wednesday. The opening event will be held at the Centurion Club, England, June 9 (Friday)– June 11 (Sunday).
The format is a 54 hole event, played in 12 teams, each comprising of four players with a shotgun start and no cut.
There will be $20 million allocated to the Individual Event and $5 million to the Team Event. The Team Event involves the best two scores from the four-man Team on each hole.
At each of the seven LIV Golf Invitational Series events during the season, 12 Team Captains will select his team by a snake draft format.
The eighth event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series season is the Team Championship boasting a $50 million purse.
The below are the 42 announced players to date, with the remaining six players still to be confirmed.
The top five players from the $2 million International Series England on the Asian Tour, held this week, June 2-5 at Slaley Hall will receive invites to the Centurion Club.
