Dubai-based Chiara Noja (Ger) is tied 19th after a first round one over par 73 in the 54 hole €42,500 Montauban Ladies Open at Golf De Montauban in France on the Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS).

The leaders are on three under par with Chiara just four shots behind.

This is the first appearance for 16-year-old Chiara following last week’s debut victory in the Czech Republic and the first time playing as both the leader of the LETAS Order of Merit and the LETAS Rookie of the Year table.

Double bogey

Chiara had a round of four birdies (2, 3, 7 and 13), three bogeys and a double bogey on hole five was not what Chiara was looking for. She finished her round with four pars over the 6,313 yards par 72 course.

Chiara looks forward to improving on today’s round with her second round Tee Time at 8.55 am in Match 6 tomorrow (Saturday).

More good news for both Chiara and the LETAS is the announcement that there are two new events on the 2022 calendar as a part of the Trust Golf Links Series that will bring the LETAS back to the United Kingdom after a three-year hiatus.

Top two players

Ramside Hall Golf Club, near Durham will be hosting the first of the events from 6th -8th July after which the players will move north to Scotland to compete at Musselburgh Golf Club from 14th - 16th July.

In each event, 126 players will compete for prize funds of €40,000 and the top two players will earn a place in the 2022 Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open, to be played at Dundonald Links on 28th - 31st July.

In a historic moment for women’s golf, the AIG Women’s Open will be played at Muirfield for the first time when it tees off from August 4th - 7th. A minimum of three places into the Final Qualifying for the year’s final Major Championship will be on offer to competitors playing in the LETAS event held at Musselburgh Golf Club.
