Dubai-based Chiara Noja (Ger) shot a final round of two under par 70 to finish on four under par in the €40,000 Golf Vlaanderen LETAS Trophy at Millenium Golf in Belgium on the Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS).

The 16 year-old finished in a tie for second place with four other players, just one back of the winner, third round leader from Australia, Kristalle Blum who won with a final round of 75.

Chiara managed a storming last round which included seven birdies, three bogeys and a double on 17.

He last four holes were birdie, birdie, double and birdie.

Bounce back

On finishing her round Chiara told Gulf News, “Today, I played some really good golf and I definitely had my game. Hole 17 was just unlucky, as I just misjudged the wind and found an unplayable lie in the bunker. I was proud to bounce back with a birdie on the last hole. At the moment I am a little disappointed. I am feeling a bit tired body wise and I just need to rest up for a couple of days, but considering what I have gone through over the last two weeks, and on review it has exceeded my expectations with no practice and very little preparation with my rib injury. Then we go again next week in France.”

With this performance Chiara consolidates her first place position in the 2022 LETAS Order of Merit, with 1171.25 points with second placed Momoka Kobori (NZ) on 813.75 points, with Chiara having played five tournaments and Momoka just three.

Next week’s tournament on the LETAS, week eight of the 2022 season, starts on Thursday 30th June – Saturday 2nd July, in the €40,000 Hauts De France – Pas De Calais Golf Open at Golf Saint Omer, France.
