Dubai-based Kristyna Napoleaova shot a second round of one over par 73 to make the cut in her home Open in this week’s €200,000 Tipsport Czech Ladies Open held at Royal Beroun Golf Club.

Kristyna opened up with rounds of 70 and 73 over the first two days to be one under par on the 6,225 yards, par 72 course, in tied 43rd place with 18 holes to play today (Sunday).

The cut fell at one over par, 145.

Her second round contained a mixed bag of three birdies, two bogeys and a double.

The leaders are Nicole Broch Estrup (Den), and Austrian amateur Emma Spitz on 12 under par, who were the top two after round one.

Tied third

They are followed, one shot back in tied third, by local Czech players Jan Melichova (Am) and Klara Spilkova who have matched each other with rounds of 68 and 65.

Kristyna commented after her round, “It is great to see my fellow Czech players Jan and Klara up there in contention. That means that eight of our Czech girls, including myself, have made the cut. Regarding my round, I have been frustrated on the greens for a while. The golf course is playing super short and being one of the longer hitters, I probably perform better on longer and tougher courses. To do well this week, you have to be accurate with your approach shots and putt well, and to be honest, I have done neither that well. Perhaps I have put too much pressure on myself with it also being my home Open. I am proud to make the cut and with the final round today (Sunday) let’s see what we can do to round off the week.”

Kristyna has a tee time at 8.42 am today (Sunday).
