Dubai-based 25 year-old Guido Migliozzi (It) shot a final round of nine under par 62 for a 72 hole total of 16 under par to win the €3 million Cazoo Open de France at Le Golf National in Paris on the DP World Tour.

Level par after five holes, the Italian produced a remarkable streak of 13 holes.

He birdied the last four holes of the front nine to go out in 32 and came home in 30 with five birdies and four pars to establish the clubhouse lead and could not be caught by the following groups in contention.

On the par 4 hole 18, Migliozzi hit, what has to be a candidate for ‘Shot of the Year’ as his second shot after a 254 yard tee shot and a second shot from 197 yards, to a challenging back right pin position, that brushed the hole to leave a 5 feet and 11 inch putt, one of only two birdies on this hole all day.

79 places

Migliozzi secured a one stroke victory from Rasmus Hojgaard (Den).

In the updated DP World Tour Rankings, Migliozzi moves up 79 places to number 21 in the season long table.

Other ‘movers and shakers’ this week on the Rankings include Rasmus Hojgaard moving up 38 spots to 23rd, Coetzee up 44 spots to 64th and Thomas Pieters up one spot to 5th. Local player Paul Barjon, who recently lost his PGA Tour playing rights enters the DP World Rankings in 317th place.

With six qualifying events still to be played on the calendar, the top 50 players in the DP World Tour Rankings will qualify to play in the $10 million DP World Tour Championship, Dubai on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Thursday 17th – Sunday 20th November, 2022.
