Nelly’s sister Jessica has got off to a fast start with her being six under the card after eight holes including two eagles and a bogey.
On completing her round Chiara told Gulf News: “I definitely left a few shots out there today, but overall, I am pretty happy with my golf today. Tomorrow looks to be windy, so I am being positive and looking forward to the challenge. I played in the Team Event with US golfer Alison Lee. She was super nice and I really enjoyed getting to play with someone of her level and experience, so the team aspect of it was really enjoyable.”
Alison Lee also shot a level par 72, and has a career high of 23 in the World Rankings and played in the winning 2015 winning Solheim Cup US Team as well as being the defending champion of this event, having won last year with rounds of 65, 65 and 71 for a 15 under par total and a five-shot winning margin from South African Ashleigh Buhai.
Kristyna had two nines of 36, with two birdies and two bogeys along with 14 pars.
In the 36-hole Team Event, the lead is held by Team De Roey and Team Roussin on 18 under par in a best two from the Team of three pros and an invited Amateur format.
