Dubai-based Chiara Noja shot a disappointing first round of two over par 74 in the €40,000 Vasteras Open Presented by PadelPitch on LETAS on Wednesday.
The 16-year-old German, started off on Tee 10 and went to the turn in one under par 35 with birdies on the two par 5’s; holes 13 and 18. This was a typically steady and consistent start for Chiara as she showed no signs of what was to come on her homeward nine.
On her back nine, the front nine on the scorecard, her game uncharacteristically unravelled with bogeys on holes 2, 6 and 7 with no birdies to come home in 39 shots.
Chiara lies in tied 19th with many players still on the golf course at the time of going to print. The tournament is being played over the Orresta Golf & Konferens Club, which is playing at 5,605 yards and a par 72. The leaders in the clubhouse are currently on three under par.
