Dubai-based Alison Muirhead (Scot) shot a first round three under par 69 in the PXG Women’s Match Play Qualifying Rounds at World Golf Village, St Augustine, Florida, US.

The format of this tournament on the East Coast Women’s Pro Golf Tour, which boasts a minimum purse of $60,000 and a $15,000 first prize, is 36 holes strokeplay after which the field will be cut to 64 players for matchplay.

Alison currently lies in tied sixth with the leader on six under with just 13 players breaking par.

Dropped shot

Alison had a solid round of four birdies and one dropped shot in her round.

Alison told Gulf News, “I am mainly here in the US for LPGA Stage 2 Qualifying in a couple of weeks. This week’s event is just to ensure my game is tournament ready and was always in my plans as a warm up.”

The dates for the LPGA Qualifying School Stage 2 are Thursday 17th - Sunday 20th November, 2021 at Plantation Golf & Country Club, Venice, Florida with play over both the Bobcat and Panther courses.
