Dubai-based Alison Muirhead shot a second round level par 72 for a 36-hole total of three under par to make the top 64 in the PXG Women’s Match Play Qualifying Rounds at World Golf Village, St Augustine, Florida.

The format of this tournament on the East Coast Women’s Pro Golf Tour, which boasts a minimum purse of $60,000 and a $15,000 first prize, is a 36-hole stroke play after, which the field will be cut to 64 players for match play.

The Scot’s second round included an outward half of one under 35 with birdies on holes one and nine and a bogey on hole six.

Match play rounds

The back nine was somewhat more dramatic, a three birdie, two double run that saw her finish tied 12th in the Qualifying Section.

The top 64 cut fell at 155. The Medallist after 36 holes is on 12 under par.

In the match play rounds, the top 64 players will be divided into 16 ‘pods’ of four, the top four players in each pod advancing to Friday’s Sweet 16, the knockout rounds of traditional match play to be contested over the weekend. There is no competitive play on Thursday as all players will be attending the Generation W Links to Leadership Summit presented by Circle K and Baptist Health Care.
