Carlota Ciganda ended the Ladies European Tour season on a high after shooting a final round five under par 67 to win by four shots in the €600,000 Andalucia Open de Espana played over the Los Naranjos course in Marbella

The 31-year-old sprinted to the turn in 32, which included birdies the second and eighth as well as an impressive eagle on the fifth.

Eight solid pars on the back nine and a grandstand birdie on the 18th saw Ciganda finish the tournament on 15 under as she collected her fifth Ladies’ European Tour victory and a winner’s cheque of €90,000 to go along with her two LPGA victories.

Runner-up on 11 under was Maja Stark, who balanced nines of 33 with six birdies and no dropped shots to card a final round 66.

The Race to Costa del Sol Order of Merit champion Atthaya Thitikul had a solid 71 to finish a further three shots back to round off an impressive year for the 18 year old.

Dubai-based Alison Muirhead carded a one over 73, to finish tied 43rd on six over par.

It was a great week for the home country, with Spain filling three of the top six places: Ciganda, fourth placed Fatima Fernandez Cano and the winner of the 2019 Dubai Moonlight Classic, Nuria Iturrioz, who moved up to tied fifth in the final round with a best of the day 65.
