Dubai: Chiara Noja shot a second round two under par 70 to remain atop of the leaderboard of the €40,000 Trust Golf Links Series — The Musselburgh GC, Scotland.

The 16-year-old German’s 70, along with her first round 68, sees her at six under par on 138 with a one-shot lead from Thailand’s Arpichaya Yubol, who had rounds of 71 and 68.

Dubai-based Chiara had four birdies and two bogeys in her second round, with two nines of 35. Birdies came on holes 4, 7, 13 and 18, with bogeys on holes 2 and 11. Chiara is six under par on the 4 par 5’s she has played eight times so far over the two rounds.

Helping my confidence

On completing her round Chiara spoke to Gulf News: “Today was windy and rained a lot. We have not seen much rain recently. Two under is OK and I left a lot out there. I will be leading with 18 holes to play and I am placed in the final group, which I am getting accustomed to that helps my confidence. I will just go out tomorrow and play my best golf and play the golf course, and see where it gets me.”

The cut fell at +16 with 48 players making the mark with the final round taking place on Saturday. Chiara will be in Match 17, off Tee 1 Saturday at 10.15am along with Thailand Arpichaya Yubol and fellow German Patricia Isabel Schmidt.

Chiara will be seeking her second win of the 2022 LETAS season and her seventh top 10 finish from her eight events so far with her worst finish being tied 14th in the PGA Championship Trelleborg in May in Sweden.
