Well today, I felt so much better this morning after a good night’s sleep.

I went to bed last night at around 8.30pm feeling rotten after a bout of flu and was fearing the worst.

I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up, felt my appetite coming back, and the lack of need for more sleep.

Probably, the shotgun start at 12.15pm certainly helped. In a traditional tournament I may have had an early tee time, so it was nice to have a morning rest.

I am now feeling about 80% back to full health and fitness and hope to feel even better tomorrow (Sunday) for the final round.

I finished strong today with birdies on two of my last three holes on 15 and 16 which is another good sign.

I started on hole 18 in the shotgun start and made a birdie.

Silly shot

I dropped a silly shot on hole 1, perhaps one of the easiest holes on the course. I hit my tee shot in the sand on the right and failed to convert a 10 footer for a par four.

I missed a few putts out there, just holing a decent putt on the 16th hole.

I always enjoy putting on paspalum grass and I will always back myself to make putts. The greens have been good this week, and improved from what they were earlier in the week.

I had seven birdies today and a frustrating three putt on hole 13.

I was 25 feet away with a birdie putt, lost my concentration and ended up having almost a 20 footer for a par and missed.

I am now tied in 7th place on seven under par and just four back of the leaders.

The team element is very important and us Crushers GC need to finish in the top four for the season after tomorrow, to be seeded for the Miami Team event at the end of the month.

We were second in the team rankings at the start of the week. The Fireballs GC are having another good week and we need to have a ‘Super Sunday’ from all of us with three scores counting from the team of four in all rounds this week to maintain our place.

We have all enjoyed the team element and it seems to becoming more important as the season goes on.

New dynamic

My Team is Bryson DeChambeau, Paul Casey, Charles Howell III and myself. Getting to know these guys off the golf course has added a new dynamic to the tournaments as well as all our lives.

So, I will hydrate again, eat well and rest and be ready to go again at the 12.15 pm shotgun start.

Wish me luck tomorrow as well as the Crushers GC and goodnight to all!

Anirban lies in tied 9th after round one with a 67 in the Individual Event.

The Crushers GC Team of Bryson DeChambeau (Capt. 67), Paul Casey (64), Charles Howell III (68) and Anirban Lahiri (66) lie in fourth place after round two from 12 teams on 18 under par.
