Last week I had a week off from the DP World Tour and spent time at my summer home in Poland along with my golf coach.

This week is always one all us DP World Tour players look forward to, with the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, home of the DP World Tour.

It is our flagship tournament of the year and boasts a prizefund of $8 million, and only surpassed all year by the Majors, the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play and the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.

I have played the BMW PGA Championship only once before, at last year’s event, where I missed the cut by a couple of shots with two rounds of level par 72 to finish in tied 89th.

Can't wait to compete

I very much like the golf course design and layout at Wentworth — it suits my eye and I can’t wait to compete. It has the feel of a very big tournament and I like that.

I will find out my tee time for round one on Thursday a little later today (Tuesday) and I am playing in tomorrow’s (Wednesday) Pro-Am.

After the BMW PGA Championship my DP World Tour schedule takes me to Italy, France and then to Scotland for the Dunhill Championship.

Looking further ahead I will be arriving in Dubai at the end of October and will base myself there for the winter and I am planning to be staying there until April 2023.

Special affection

At the moment, I purely focus on the tournament I am playing that week, but when I have time to relax and reflect, I look forward to the $10 million DP World Tour Championship on Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, the final event of the 2021-2022 DP World Tour Rankings.

I am often asked during the year, about Dubai and what are my favourite golf courses?

My response is that I love to play them all, but have a special affection for the Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club, Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, and, of course, the Greg Norman designed Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

I hope you will all be following me this week and I look forward to sharing my Daily Diary on Wednesday.
