I shot a final round of three under par 69 to finish tied 32nd in the 2022 $8 million BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, a Rolex Series event on the DP World Tour.

These Rolex Series events are huge on the DP World Tour and a win or decent performance gets you in the mix for both the DM World Tour Rankings as well as The Ryder Cup 2023.

If a player wins any of the Rolex Series events it is difficult to see them not being in Luke Donald’s Ryder Cup Team Europe in Rome next year.

This means the following tournaments: DP World Tour Championship, The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and / or the Dubai Desert Classic, they are all very big events on both on the DP World Tour as well as the OWGR.

Nine pars

My round today included a front nine holes of nine pars.

I dropped a shot on hole 10 which stopped my positive momentum.

Birdies on holes 12 and 17 got me back on track and an eagle on the par five 18th gave me a round of 69 and a real move up the leaderboard.

In hindsight I left a few shots out there on the golf course this week, but no regrets, I gave it my best shot. My putting was not great this week, and if you are not on your game with the flat stick you are never going to contend with the strength of the DP World Tour these days.

Congratulations to Shane Lowry, the 2022 BMW PGA Championship winner, a worthy winner with a score of 17 under par, with rounds of 70, 68 and today’s final round of 62.

Nines of 33 and 29, including a bogey five on hole 15 are a bit special at Wentworth and, in all honesty, with this standard of golf deserves to take the top prize.

This week is the start of the 2023 Ryder Cup Rankings.

Not a bad week for me, but not a great week.

France and Scotland

My next week on the DP World Tour is in Italy, followed by France and then the Dunhill in Scotland.

I am pleased with my weak, appreciate that I could have done better, but for a few more holed putts on the greens.

Onwards and upwards and see all my Gulf News followers and friends soon.

That you to all for your personal messages of support and so much more.

It is all very much appreciated.

See you all soon.
