This week sees the PGA Tour host their flagship tournament of the year, The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass with a $25 million prizefund.
World Number One Jon Rahm (Spain) will go head-to-head with his current rivals at The Players after being grouped alongside Rory McIlroy (NI) and Scottie Scheffler (US) for the first two rounds. Both McIlroy and Scheffler will have another chance to take over the number one spot. In one of the strongest player fields of the year, 49 of top 50 in FedEx Cup Rankings and 43 of top 50 in OWGR will tee it up.
The DP World Tour returns to action with the $2 million Magical Kenya Open presented by Absa at Muthaiga GC, Nairobi. The Spanish Dubai based trio of Rafa Cabrera Bello, Adrian Otaegui and Adri Arnaus are all committed to play.
Kapur withdraws
On the Asian Tour MG Keyser (RSA), representing Jumeirah Golf Estates and Jeev Milkha Singh (Ind) are playing in the $2 million International Series – Thailand, with Shiv Kapur (Ind), recovering from a bout of flu has decided to withdraw.
On the Ladies European Tour Chiara Noja, who currently stands in 108th in the Women’s World Rankings, is playing a two week stretch, this week in the South African Open before travelling East to the ARAMCO Team Series – Thailand. Olivia Cowan (Ger), a JA The Resort Ambassador will join Chiara in the entry list for both these tournaments, the fifth and sixth of the LET season.
