Dubai: Prosports International has long played a pivotal role in nurturing Emirati golfers. Founded by Sheikh Saeed Mohamed Hasher Al Maktoum, the UAE’s leading golf retailer provided unwavering support to Ismail Sharif on his journey to becoming the first professional Emirati golfer.

Sheikh Saeed’s personal commitment to developing local talent stemmed from a deep passion for the sport and genuine care for Emirati sportspersons. What began as a passion project soon evolved into a business that helped shape the rise of golf in the UAE.

"We were just doing something we loved," Sheikh Saeed said, adding, "and in a sense, we were lucky that things moved in the right way as far as golf’s development here."

Over the years, Prosports has been instrumental in supporting the sport’s growth in the region. A key milestone was its support in helping The European Tour establish a base in the Middle East, contributing to the UAE’s transformation into a global golfing hub.

Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, Prosports has left a lasting mark on the region’s golfing landscape, operating a network of 31 stores across the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain.
