Dubai: We all know how dedicated Cristiano Ronaldo is to maintaining his body. At 40, the Portuguese superstar remains in phenomenal shape and continues to be one of the most sought-after names in the football world.

But did you know that Ronaldo avoids taking his mobile phone into the bedroom at night?

According to his former Portugal teammate Cedric Soares, the Al Nassr forward has strict rules when it comes to sleep and technology. "He stops using his phone at specific times. He believes it affects his sleep, so he keeps it out of the bedroom," Cedric revealed in an interview with ESPN Brazil.

"He once told me, ‘Cedric, you shouldn’t use 5G because it affects your sleep.’ That was back when 5G first came out. I’m not sure if he still does it, but he used to block the signal so he could get uninterrupted rest."

Ronaldo, who recently extended his contract with Al Nassr for another two years, has long emphasised the importance of discipline — both for himself and his family.

In a previous interview, he opened up about why he's hesitant to give a phone to his eldest son, Ronaldo Jr.

"My oldest child is going to be 12 soon, and he always asks, ‘Daddy, can I have a phone? Can I have a phone?’” Ronaldo shared.

“I tell him, ‘Cristiano, there’s time for that.’ I understand that this new generation is ahead of their age in some ways, and that’s great—but we shouldn’t let them become obsessed with technology. Give them access, but with limits. Not all the time. That’s the key.”

He added, “I want my son to understand that getting what you want isn't always easy. The most valuable thing I can give him is a good education.”
