Vital wins for Hamburg and Hertha

Berlin: Hamburg downed Hoffenheim 3-0 to seal the second straight win on home soil, while Hertha Berlin inflicted the 11th loss of the season on Hoffenheim.

Hamburg wrapped up their fourth victory of the season to move away from the drop zone of the Bundesliga standings.

“It’s important that we become a force at home again,” Hamburg defender Dennis Diekmeier said.

Hertha increased Cologne’s relegation worries as they overpowered their opponents who suffered the 11th loss of the season.

Vedad Ibisevic scored two goals to secure all three points.
