Abu Dhabi: The UAE senior football team will gather in Dubai on Sunday to prepare for their friendly match against Uzbekistan on October 12, which is part of their build-up to the Gulf Cup in Bahrain in January and the qualifiers for the 2015 Asian Cup.

The Etisalat Pro-League will stop until October 20 to allow new coach Mahdi Ali to prepare the team for the Uzbek match and another friendly against Bahrain on October 16.

The UAE will take on Uzbekistan at Al Shabab’s Maktoum Bin Rashid Stadium in Dubai, while they will play against Bahrain at Al Wasl’s stadium in the same city.

Striker Ahmad Khalil of Al Ahli was not selected because of injury despite returning to competitive matches last week. Amer Mubarak and Muhannad Al Enazi return to national duty following their absence from the last squad.

The full squad includes: Abdul Aziz Sangoor, Abdul Aziz Haikal, Esmail Al Hammadi and Amer Mubarak from Al Ahli; Amer Abdul Rahman and Mohammad Fawzi from Bani Yas; Ali Khaseef, Khalid Eisa, Ali Al Ameri, Ali Mabkhoot, Abdullah Mousa and Khamis Esmail from Al Jazira; Waleed Abbas from Al Shabab; Dawood Sulaiman, Mohammad Ahmad, Muhannad Al Enazi and Omar Abdul Rahman from Al Ain; Habib Al Fardan from Al Nasr; Esmail Mattar, Hamdan Al Kamali and Saeed Al Kathiri from Al Wahda; and Rashid Eissa from Al Wasl.
