Belated opportunity to recharge batteries for Manchester United
Manchester: Jose Mourinho believes Manchester United’s trip to Dubai this week will provide his players with a belated opportunity to recharge their batteries after a hectic schedule.
United’s squad flew to the emirate yesterday morning as Mourinho took advantage of a rare break in the schedule to embark on a winter training camp.
United are not back in action until Stoke City visit Old Trafford on Monday and Mourinho will use the time to work on tactics after months of quick turnarounds.
“We need to recover but at the same time we also need to train because during this crazy time we have not had many times to work on details that you want to work on,” the United manager said. “It’s been more about recovery from the match and the travelling and the preparations for the next one without time to work.
“If we can have time to have a good, nice week to recover some injured players and tired players and, at the same time, work on some tactical details then I think it would be good for the second part of the season.”
Meanwhile, Championship side Sheffield United are considering a move to take United striker James Wilson on loan.
