Al Jazira and UAE national striker Mohammad Omar has been slapped with a three-match ban and a Dhs. 4,000 fine by the UAE FA.
The sanction was imposed on the former Al Ain player by the FA Technical Committee (TC) in a meeting chaired by Khalid Bin Faris last Sunday .
Omar was penalised because of his failure to attend national duty last month when the UAE were preparing for the Kirin Cup tournament in Japan which they won.
The player failed to produce his passport at the proper time so that his visa to Japan could be facilitated. He gave his passport to the officials later, but it was not accepted by the team manager, forcing him to miss the trip.
He will miss the first three matches for his club Al Jazira when the first division league commences on August 31.
Another Al Jazira player Adil Naseb was also fined for not joining the national training camp on May 17-18 for the Kirin Cup.
Nasib received a warning and a fine of Dhs 4,000.
The Technical Committee agreed to take part in a friendly tournament in Switzerland from July 25-31. The tournament will see the participation of Egypt, Qatar and a third team to be announced later.
The committee also decided that the UAE senior team should assemble on July 7 and leave for Switzerland on July 9 to conduct a two week training camp in preparation for the tournament.
It was also decided that the national team would play a friendly against Iraq in September. The date and venue would be confirmed at a later date.
