Dubai: Cristiano Ronaldo’s global fan base is immense, so the announcement of a new museum dedicated to him has generated major excitement — especially since it will be located in Asia. The football icon has chosen Hong Kong as the site for his CR7 Life Museum, a decision made due to the large number of fans he has in China and across the region.

Adding to the excitement, one of Ronaldo’s representatives recently confirmed that the star himself will attend the museum’s opening. While the exact date of his appearance is still under wraps, the museum is set to open its doors on July 7 at the K11 Musea shopping mall in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Luis Parafita, a representative of Ronaldo, told the South China Morning Post that choosing Hong Kong was a “natural” decision.

“This is the door to Asia. We have a huge fan base here,” he said, noting Ronaldo’s strong existing connection with both China and the wider Asian market.

According to Parafita, the idea of launching another CR7 museum has drawn global interest.

The CR7 Life Museum in Hong Kong will span 1,114.8 square meters and is expected to attract more than two million visitors in its first year. With a maximum capacity of 500 visitors per hour, organisers aim to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience.

This is the second CR7 Museum, following the original location in Ronaldo’s hometown of Funchal, Portugal, which opened in 2013. Unlike the permanent Portuguese museum, the Hong Kong edition is planned as a one-year attraction, according to Hong Kong Free Press.
