Celta Vigo renew contract of coach Berizzo until 2017

Vigo: Spanish football club Celta Vigo have announced the contract renewal of their Argentine head coach Eduardo ‘Toto’ Berizzo for a season until June 2017.

Vigo on Tuesday said on their official website that Celta’s project for next season, an aim to return to European competition after a 10 year absence, already has a solid foundation, reports Efe.

In the summer of 2014 the Argentine coach returned to Celta, where he had been a player, to replace Luis Enrique.

In his first season, Berizzo managed to finish La Liga in eighth position, while Vigo are currently in fifth place, which means that the Spanish team can qualify for the Europa League next season. (IANS)
