Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has expressed his gratitude to fans for their unwavering support following his return from injury on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old made his first appearance since December, coming off the bench in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Fulham at the Emirates.

He received a thunderous ovation from the home crowd upon his introduction and wasted little time making an impact, scoring just seven minutes later. After finding the net, he made sure to acknowledge the backroom staff who had helped him during his recovery.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, the England international shared his appreciation, writing: "I have to acknowledge and thank you all for the energy and love you showed me last night. I've never seen or felt anything like what I felt at the Emirates last night. I will never forget that. Truly grateful!"

While Saka’s return was a major boost, Arsenal suffered fresh injury setbacks, with both Gabriel Magalhães and Jurrien Timber picking up knocks.

Mikel Arteta admitted that losing Gabriel at such a crucial stage of the season is a significant blow but remained optimistic about Arsenal’s ability to cope.

"It's not good for us to lose a player like Gabi, but it is what it is,” admitted Arteta.

“We are going to have to see what happened with him and if he is good for the next game, and if not we will have to try to adapt. We know how good we are and we are going to try to win the games even though he is injured."

With a Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid looming next week, it remains uncertain whether either player will recover in time.
