Dubai: Al Shabab's Asian Champions League opponents Piroozi of Iran and Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia have not attempted to ban the UAE club from wearing the Kappa logo on their kit for away travels, according to a club spokesperson.

A report on www.elaph.com states that exception had been taken by the sporting brand's silhouetted logo of a man and woman sat back-to-back, which appears prominently on the UAE club's kit design.

It claimed the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have requested Al Shabab to resolve the issue before the club's travels to play in Iran and Saudi. But such a breach of contract with their official kit supplier would trigger a costly compensation clause.

Al Shabab team manager Obaid Al Hubaithi told Gulf News: "It's not true, these reports are only rumours."
