Dubai: The emirati youth from all over the UAE have been invited to enroll for the second edition of ‘Tamhin’, the sports vocational programme launched by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC).

“The first edition of the programme was a huge success and we see the need to have our young minds involved fruitfully during the summer months,” noted Dr Ahmad Saad Al Sharif, Secretary General, DSC at the launch of the programme earlier this week.

As per the pre-requisites, applicants have to be students in the higher secondary stages and each of them have to submit an academic certificate from the previous year along with a passport copy, indentity card and a nomination certificate issued by the school.

“This programme is as per the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. We all believe that our genuine wealth lies in the development of our youths to shoulder the responsibility of the UAE in the future,” Dr Al Sharif said.

“This programme is here to cater to a need when it comes to specialisation and professionalism in the sports sector,” he added.

The ‘Tamhin’ programme will run parallel to the Hamdan Bin Mohammad Programme for Sports Leadership that is also conducted by the DSC. The inaugural edition of ‘Tamhin’ attracted 50 young men and women from across the country last summer.
