Dubai: The deadline for registration for the first of four Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge build-up rides has been extended by a week to this Friday, August 26.

Five hundred cyclists are expected to take part in the opening 35-km build-up at the District One cycling track on September 2.

A spokesperson for the event said: “With just over three months to go until the biggest cycling event of the year it’s time to get into shape, the Build-Up rides are a fantastic way for cyclists to focus on their fitness in a safe and friendly environment and we are looking forward to welcoming new and familiar faces at the first ride.”

The second 45-km build-up ride will be held on October 7 at the same venue, while build-up rides three and four will be held at Al Qudra, with the third 65-km ride to be held on October 28 and the fourth 85-km ride set for November 25.

The main 92-km ride will be held on December 16 at Dubai Autodrome, with organisers expecting a record number of entries.
