Under 17 and under 13 teams defeated Al Ain Sportplex and Unique Cricket Training
Dubai: Delhi Private School Young Talents Cricket Academy (DPS YTCA) made a winning start as their under 17 and under 13 teams defeated Al Ain Sportplex and Unique Cricket Training (UCT) in Friday's opening matches of the Ninth Nissan Gulf Cup cricket tournament.
The ninth edition of the tournament is being held under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council. In a closely contested under-17 match, DPS YTCA scored 145 runs for five wickets in the allotted 25 overs and later bowled out Al Ain Sportplex for 135 runs.
Adil Tahir was YTCA's top scorer with 43 runs while Tanmay Anand (27) and Shiv Mehra (26) also added to the score.
In the under-13 match, DPS YTCA had an easier outing as they beat UCT by 79 runs. YTCA scored 144 and later bundled out UCT for 65 runs.

Under-15: UCT bt Westminster YTCA by one wicket. Westminster YTCA 100 for 4 wkts in 20 overs (Shiv Mehra 33) lost to UCT 101 for 9 wkts in 19 overs (Junaid Khalid 55, Anirudh 3 for 6, Shiv 3 for 29, Liam 2 for 19).
