Sharjah: Vivek Reji Thomas took five wickets to help University of Wollongong (UOW) defeat Heriot-Watt University by eight wickets in the inter college section while Moaaz Qazi's four wickets steered Zayed Cricket Academy past Al Sadiq Young Talents Cricket Academy by six wickets in the Under-14 category of the eight Nissan Gulf Cup Cricket tournament organised by Young Talents Cricket Academy.

Both the matches were held at the Shaikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The 25-over tournament, sponsored by Nissan Middle East and held under the auspices of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council, is being held for college, Under-11, Under-14, and Under-17 at three different venues.

Vivek claimed five wickets for 20 runs as Heriot-Watt University, batting first, were bowled out for 110 runs. Vivek got the wickets of Nuhman Mirza, Deepak Phulwani, Pulkit Malhotra, Saeed Mohammad and Owais Mustafa. Only three Heriot-Watt batsmen reached double figures - Qasim Zubair (29), Samiullah (12) and Vivek Rathod (10). Aswin Narayanan of UOW picked up two wickets for 15 runs.

Inter-collegiate: University of Wollongong beat Heriot-Watt University by 8 wkts.

Heriot-Watt 110 all out. University of Wollongong 113 for 2 in 16.1 overs. Man of the match: Vivek Reji Thomas of UOW.

Under-14: Al Sadiq YTCA lost to Zayed Cricket Academy by 6 wkts.
