Abu Dhabi: Syed Maqsood and Rohan Mustafa shared the spotlight in the quarter-finals of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council Ramadan Twenty20 Cup.

Maqsood blasted an unbeaten century to lead United Bank Limited (UBL) to victory over William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana while Mustafa produced a fine all-round performance for One Stop Tourism (OST) to defeat Singh Diesel.

Sent in to bat first under lights at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, UBL lost their captain Amjad Ali (2) early but Maqsood and Asif Khan set the platform with a 157-run stand in 91 balls for the second wicket.

Maqsood was the most adventurous.

The stocky opener pummeled 13 fours and eight sixes in a 58-ball 126 not out. Asif made 50 off 46 balls, highlighted by half-a-dozen boundaries for UBL to post 212 for four. Gymkhana in reply were dismissed for 134.

Zaheer Maqsood was the pick of the bowlers, the leg spinner returned with four for 18 from four overs.

In the late game, Mustafa delivered with both bat and ball to script a 69-run win for his team. The UAE captain stroked 52 off 42 balls on a dew-covered sluggish outfield and then Umair Ali produced a little cavalier 18-ball 39 in the middle for OST to put up 174 for eight.

Taswar Ali provided the early break by removing both the openers before Mustafa, with his off-spin, bowled a tidy spell to return with four for 24 from four overs to skittle out Singh Diesel to 105.
