AJ Al Shaanzi Oman went down by four runs to the Abdul Qadir International Cricket Academy (AQICA), Pakistan on the second day of the Hills Advertising and Arabia Felix Cup Under-13 cricket tournament in Sharjah.

The Omani lads planned their reply to near perfection, but fell at the last hurdle when they ambled to 131 for four in their allotted 25 overs while chasing 135 for a win. Al Shaanzi had the best of starts in this competition when their openers Avinash Shekhar (41) and Akilesh Balakrishnan (15) stayed together for an opening partnership worth 120 runs.

But three quick wickets with the score stranded at 123, saw the Omanis wilt under pressure as the AQICA lads snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Al Shaanzi will be ruing this golden opportunity after the AQICA boys gifted them 45 extra runs.

In another match, ISET's bowlers were bang on target against TMS Dubai who were all out for 68. Two ISET bowlers claimed three wickets apiece.
