* In the 54 balls faced in this World Cup, Quinton de Kock hasn’t scored in 44 of them (81.48%). In the remaining balls he has 3 singles, 2 twos and 5 fours!

* Hashim Amla (159), who registered his highest ODI score, made his 20th 100 in just 108 innings. He is now the quickest to reach this landmark, followed by Virat Kohli in 133 innings!

* Incidentally, it was Amla’s third score of 150-plus in ODIs, thus making him the first South African to do so. The ODI record still remains with Sachin Tendulkar, who has five scores above 150 runs.

* Amla’s 159 is the fourth score of 150+ in this WC after 215 C Gayle, 162* AB de Villiers & 161* Tillakaratne Dilshan. This is a record in a single WC tournament

* Faf du Plessis’ 109 became the third batsman in this WC to make three scores of 50+ after Brendon McCullum and Lahiru Thirimanne.

* The 247-run partnership between Hashim Amla & Faf du Plessis is South Africa’s best ever for the second wicket in all ODIs. Previous best was 209 between Gary Kirsten and Neil McKenzie vs Kenya at Cape Town in October 2001.

* South Africa’s 411/4 is now their fifth total of 400+ in all ODIs. India is the only other team to also make five scores of 400+ in ODIs.

* The 411 by South Africa is second highest total in World Cup matches, just two runs short of record 413 by India against Bermuda in WC 2007.

* South Africa have become first ODI team to score 400 totals in successive games.

* Interestingly, South Africa’s last three totals of 400+ have come in the last 44 days!

* Andy Balbirnie’s 58 is the highest score by an Irish batsman against South Africa. The previous best was 36 not out by Alex Cusack at Belfast in June 2007. Incidentally, it was Balbirnie’s maiden score of 50+ of his ODI career in 13 innings

* South Africa became the second ODI team after Australia (in 2007) to win margins of 200-plus in successive games.
