Sharjah: Karachi Kings, which will play in a crucial match against Peshawar Zalmi on Thursday, heaved a sigh of relief with their captain Imad Wasim rejoining the team after a day in hospital. The all-rounder has recovered from a mild concussion that he suffered while diving to take a catch in the match against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday.

Karachi fans were shocked to see their skipper being carried away in a stretcher after he pulled off the catch of Sohail Khan when he leant backward and his head hit the ground with a thud.

Wasim was kept under observation for 24 hours before release, though he has been advised two more days of rest. England’s One-day team captain Eoin Morgan, who joined the team, will be replacing him and lead the side.

Karachi had earlier put out a video of Wasim in hospital, where he commented: “This is to tell everyone that I am fine and will join the Karachi Kings soon.”

Meanwhile, Islamabad United also suffered a huge injury blow with pacer Rumman Raees being ruled out for the remainder of the PSL matches due to a knee injury. “Rumman Raees has returned home and will not take any further part in (PSL 2018). Rumman injured his knee while fielding in Sharjah and will now go through a recovery process back home,” the PSL team tweeted.

The 26-year-old pacer was carried away during the match against Quetta Gladiators on February 28 when his right knee was injured while he tried to save a boundary.
