Kerala cricket team to tour England to prepare for next Ranji Trophy season

Dubai: Buoyed by their recent success in the Ranji Trophy, Kerala team want to elevate their preparations for the next season by touring England later this year.

Kerala had an amazing run in the Indian domestic season this year having reached the final for the first time ever. They fell in the final to Vidarbha by virtue of a 37-run lead after the match ended in a draw.

Extensive travelling

With extensive traveling a part of the entire season, Kerala captain Sachin Baby said the idea was to acclimatise the squad to different conditions before the start of the next edition.

"When we play in cold climates or on green wickets, we encounter difficulties," captain Sachin said recently at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram.

"To overcome that, the Kerala team will spend two months in Jammu & Kashmir during the IPL time from April to May. Then we will tour England in June-July. That's our plan for the next four months," he added.
