Yogi Group defeated Habib Bank AG Zurich by seven wickets in the fourth Oasis Floodlight Cricket tournament at the Dubai Cricket Council (DCC) ground.
This tournament is being organised by the DCC in conjunction with Seven Seas Shipchandlers.
Batting first, Habib Bank were shot out for 52 in 19.1 overs. Nitin Kalekar was the chief wrecker bagging four for 11 runs. Faisal top scored with 23.
Yogi Group reached the target losing three wickets in just 10.1 overs. Rehman of Habib Bank bowled well to pick two of the three wickets.
In another match, Tiger Cricket Club defeated Rais Hassan Saadi Group by six wickets.
Rais Hassan Saadi piled up 134 for nine in the allotted 25 overs through Mithila's 42. Dinesh too chipped in with 23.
Riaz was the pick among the bowlers with a spell of 4 for 16. He got good support from K. Butt, who also picked two wickets.
Tiger Club chased very well maintaining the run rate. K. Butt sparkled with the bat too and hit an unbeaten 75. He got good support from Faraz (32).
Mithila bowled tightly to pick three of the four Tiger Club wickets for 17 runs.
This tournament is being contested by eight B division teams and matches are being played on a league-cum-knock out basis.
Tomorrow, the Seven Seas Shipchandler's will take on Almoe Trading from 8 am.
On Tuesday, Lloyds Bank will meet Yogi Cricket Club. This match will be followed by Habib Bank versus Maklai Club on February 2.
