Dubai: Indian batting sensation Jemimah Rodrigues has been retained by the Brisbane Heat in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) Draft, leading a group of 23 international players selected by the eight franchises during Thursday’s event in Melbourne.

A fan favourite in Brisbane, Rodrigues will rejoin the Heat for WBBL|10 alongside fellow international recruits Chinelle Henry (West Indies) and Nadine de Klerk (South Africa), adding depth to the team’s batting and all-rounder departments.

The Sydney Thunder made a major splash by securing a powerful trio: Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu, South African pace ace Shabnim Ismail, and England’s Heather Knight.

The Sydney Sixers strengthened their ranks with the exciting additions of England's Sophia Dunkley and Mady Villiers, as well as New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr.

Adelaide Strikers landed a formidable lineup with England duo Sophie Ecclestone and Tammy Beaumont, along with South African star Laura Wolvaardt.

Melbourne Stars reinforced their core with England wicketkeeper Amy Jones, seasoned South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp, and rising English talent Dani Gibson.

The Perth Scorchers added serious firepower through New Zealand captain Sophie Devine, England's Paige Scholfield, and South Africa’s Chloe Tryon.

Hobart Hurricanes focused on experience and versatility, picking up the seasoned England trio of Danni Wyatt, Natalie Sciver-Brunt, and Linsey Smith.

Finally, the Melbourne Renegades opted for explosive talent, drafting in West Indian powerhouse Deandra Dottin and dynamic English all-rounder Alice Capsey.
