Dubai: Jhulan Goswami, the highest wicket-taker in Women’s One-day International history, will be here along with Indian women’s cricket team coach Tushar Arothe for a three-day cricket clinic at the G Force Cricket Academy from October 27.

Speaking to Gulf News, Gopal Jasapara, the head coach of the G Force Cricket Academy, said: “At a time when many women are taking interest in cricket here, we have decided to fly in Goswami for [the] clinic to motivate the participants. The clinic will be held under Arothe who has changed the fortune of [the] Indian women’s cricket team during the recently concluded Women’s World Cup in England by guiding India into the final [where they finished] as runners up.”

Jasapara, who has flown in some of the best coaches in world cricket to conduct clinics at the G Force over the years, said: “This is a great opportunity for our young boys and girls to experience coaching from a high-profile qualified coach like Tushar and closely interact with Goswami, who is considered a legend. Goswami carries with her the experience of playing cricket for 15 years for India and has taken 195 wickets from her 164 One-day Internationals. She also has bagged 40 wickets from here 10 Test matches, 10 wickets in one match and three times five wicket hauls with an average of 25.72,” said Jasapara.

Arothe has played 114 first-class matches for Baroda and scored 6,105 runs, including 13 centuries, during his 18 years of first-class season. He has also taken 225 wickets as an off-spin bowler.

There will be match-scenario discussions and net sessions, with Jasapara saying those interested can send an email to or log on to
