Indian opener gifts young fan with a signed bat inscribed with the message
Dubai: A young visually impaired cricket enthusiast had a life-changing moment during the ongoing India-England second Test at Edgbaston, when he got the opportunity to meet Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Twelve-year-old Ravi, an ardent supporter of the Indian team, has long dreamt of meeting his favorite cricketer — Jaiswal. When the young batter learned about Ravi's admiration, he immediately arranged to meet him and gifted him a signed bat inscribed with the message: "With best wishes to Ravi, with care and love."
In a heartwarming video shared by the BCCI on its social media platforms, Jaiswal is seen greeting Ravi warmly:
"Hello Ravi, how are you? I am Yashasvi, nice to meet you. I was really excited to meet you."
He added, "I have a gift for you… my bat. I’d like you to keep it as a memory from me. It’s amazing to see you and be here with you."
Overwhelmed with joy, Ravi responded: "Lovely to meet you too. Thank you so much! I can't wait to have your bat because you're a brilliant cricketer."
Ravi continued, "I think you're the future of Indian cricket. I love the game, and I love watching you bat. Your centuries were brilliant—on your day, you can score big hundreds."
Though he cannot see, Ravi impressed Jaiswal with his deep knowledge of cricket and the Indian team.
"It's so nice to meet him. He gave me a bat. I love watching him play and always follow him. I will always support him," Ravi said.
