Dubai: Former South African cricketers Herschelle Gibbs and Daryll Cullinan will conduct coaching sessions for budding cricketers from November 30 to December 5 as part of the Pro Coach Elite programme, organised by Level 3 coach Kobus Olivier at the Cover Drive Sports Academy.

Last week, Gary Kirsten, assisted by Ryan Cook, had conducted one-on-one coaching sessions for youngsters here as part of the programme.

Speaking to Gulf News, Olivier said: “Gibbs and Cullinan are coming to further boost our coaching programme that has been kicked off by Kirsten.

Kirsten worked with 16 boys aged between nine and 17 in group of two through one hour sessions. He had each session recorded on video and even mailed those videos with Kirsten’s analysis and recommendations to the boys. I will be working with the boys based on these videos till Kirsten returns on January 10.”

Through Gibbs, hailed as one of the finest openers and Cullinan, a solid middle order batsman, the programme will provide more useful tips to the youngsters.

Asked about his impressions about the talent here, Kirsten said in recent visit: “I love coming to Dubai and for me it is the second time I have worked with some of the young talent here. I see a lot of potential out there, but they need fine-tuning. My Gary Kirsten cricket academy in Cape Town runs a High Performance Progamme to fine-tune players. We make good players into better players. Players from here are welcome to also come over and join my academy’s High Performance Programme.”
