Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner Kavya Maran has become a familiar face to cricket fans, known for her passionate support and expressive reactions during Indian Premier League games. But in recent weeks, it wasn’t SRH’s on-field form that had fans buzzing — it was her rumoured wedding to Indian music sensation Anirudh Ravichander.

The 32-year-old, often spotted cheering from the stands, found herself at the centre of social media speculation after whispers of a romance with Anirudh began to swirl. Fuelled by a Reddit thread claiming the duo had been dating for over a year—and even citing an alleged dinner date — the gossip train gathered steam.

The online frenzy escalated when reports claimed none other than superstar Rajinikanth had spoken to Kavya’s father, media baron Kalanithi Maran, about the supposed match. Several outlets went as far as to suggest a wedding was imminent, sending fans into overdrive.

Anirudh, whose blockbuster scores have lit up Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema, is no stranger to the limelight. The 34-year-old composer— who has worked with icons like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan — is also the son of actor Ravi Raghavendra and nephew of Latha Rajinikanth. But even he seemed taken aback by the intensity of the buzz.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Anirudh finally put the rumours to rest.

“Marriage ah? Lol… Chill out guys. Please stop spreading rumours,” he wrote, complete with a laughing emoji.

Fans were quick to react, flooding the comments with relief, laughter, and thanks for clearing the air.

While that shuts the lid on wedding talk — for now — Kavya Maran has bigger things to focus on. After a promising start to the 2025 IPL season, her Sunrisers Hyderabad team faded late and finished sixth on the 10-team table, missing out on the playoffs just a year after reaching the final.

Wedding bells may not be ringing, but there’s still plenty of drama — on and off the pitch.
