Arab Udupi joins NMC in last four by defeating Emirates Realty by a 351-run margin
Abu Dhabi: Amjad Ali slammed a double century to lead Emirates Cricket Board Blues to a 476-run win over Abu Dhabi Airport Services in the ADCC Division One tournament here over the weekend.
Batting first, the ECB Blues compiled a record 570 runs in 50 overs against ADAS with Ali belting 32 boundaries and three sixes in his 205 off just 125 balls. Adas were bowled out for 94 with Khurram Syed and Amjad Javed picking up four wickets each.
The Abu Dhabi-based opening batsman, who will represent the UAE in the ICC Intercontinental Shield against Bermuda next month, also became the first player to score a double hundred in a Division 1 or A Division event in the UAE.
Ali shared a 221-run second wicket partnership with Khurram Khan (86) and later a 176-run partnership with Abdul Rahman (79).
In other matches of this Division One event, Arab Udupi joined New Medical Centre in the last four after a massive 351-run win over a hapless Emirates Realty.
They amassed 459 for five as Prashanth Braggs and Arshad Ali, the veteran UAE opener, helped themselves to centuries and shared a 252-run opening stand.
Emirates Realty in reply were skittled out for 108 in the group B at the Zayed Stadium.
