Montreal: Max Pacioretty scored the tiebreaking goal in Montreal’s three-goal third period as the Canadiens beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 on Thursday for their sixth straight win.

Alex Galchenyuk and Torrey Mitchell also scored to help Montreal improve to 7-0-1 and remain the only NHL team without a regulation loss. Carey Price made 29 saves to win for the fourth time in four starts this season.

Alex Killorn scored the lone goal for the Lightning, who lost against an Eastern-Conference opponent for the first time this season. Ben Bishop stopped 23 shots.

Elsewhere, Sidney Crosby scored the tiebreaking goal late in the third period to lead defending champion Pittsburgh to a 4-2 win over the New York Islanders.

Patric Hornqvist, Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel also scored — each getting his third of the season — to help the Penguins win for the third time in four games and improve to 5-0-1 at home.

Crosby was playing for the second straight game after missing the first six with a concussion. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 35 shots.

Mitch Marner had three assists and goalie Frederik Andersen bounced back from a horrid outing as Toronto beat Florida 3-2.

Marner set up Tyler Bozak for two goals and also assisted James van Riemsdyk.

Andersen, who gave up a career-worst seven goals on Tuesday, stopped 29 of 31 shots for the Maple Leafs.

In Philadelphia, Martin Hanzal and Brad Richardson scored the decisive goals to help Arizona defeat the Flyers 5-4, ending a five-game road losing streak.

Jamie McGinn, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Ryan White also scored for the Coyotes, whose two wins this season are both against the Flyers.

Detroit’s Henrik Zetterberg scored in the eighth round of a shoot-out to lift the Red Wings past St. Louis 2-1 for their sixth straight win.

In the shoot-out, St. Louis’ first shooter, Alexander Steen, scored, but then seven of his teammates all came up short. Six Red Wings players also missed.

In Los Angeles, Jeff Carter tipped a shot past Pekka Rinne at 4:31 of overtime to lift the Kings past Nashville 3-2 for their fourth straight win.

Jake Muzzin and Tyler Toffoli also scored for the Kings and Nic Dowd and Alec Martinez each had two assists. Peter Budaj stopped 24 shots while making his third straight start in place of the injured Jeff Zatkoff.

Winnipeg’s Patrik Laine scored twice on the power play to help the Jets beat Dallas 4-1.

Defenceman Tyler Myers got the Jets on the scoreboard 15 seconds into the game and rookie Kyle Connor got his first NHL goal. Connor Hellebuyck had 38 saves.

Winnipeg has scored five power-play goals this season, with the 18-year-old Laine getting four.

Minnesota’s Devan Dubnyk made 38 saves for his second straight shutout to lead the Wild to a 4-0 win over Buffalo.
