Dubai: The Emirates National School, Sharjah and Cambridge International School, Dubai emerged as winners of the fourth Al Diyafa High School Inter School Basketball Tournament.

Emirates emerged triumphant in the tournament for boys while Cambridge emerged supreme in the girls' event.

Emirates began their campaign with an easy 29-6 win over Dubai Scholars and then went on to beat Delhi Private School (DPS)Sharjah 30-16. In the super league they beat Model School 25-15 and went on to defeat Westminster, which finished runner-up, 33-13.

The star performer for Emirates was Sidheek Rasak and was rightly judged as the best player.

Mahmoud Soued of Westminster was adjudged as the promising player while the team player award went to Amal Basil Alex of Model School, Abu Dhabi.

Model School also won the Fair play team award. In the girls event, Cambridge began with a 19-6 win over Dubai Scholars and then beat DPS, Dubai 13-6.

In the semifinal they beat Al Diyafa High School 20-9 and in the final they edged DPS, Dubai again 15-11. DPS finished runner-up.

Fara Manato of Cambridge won the best player award while Anisha Sharma of DPS, Dubai bagged the promising player award.

Farrah Shaikh of Al Diyafa won the team player award. Al Diyafa also won the fair play team award.
