Dubai: A squad of 12 athletes from the Bahrain junior girls' team will conclude their two-week training camp in Dubai today.

The team trained at the Dubai Police Officers' Club under the supervision of chief coach Khalid Juma, a former top athlete.

"This has been a great experience for us to come to Dubai and avail of the fantastic facilities here. The girls were busy with their school and we took the opportunity of the mid-season holidays to come and prepare for the season ahead," Juma told Gulf News.

The team is currently preparing for the Gulf Athletics Championship, to be held in Kuwait from March 7-9.

"We wanted to be away from home to better concentrate on training. Dubai offers such fantastic infrastructure and we decided to come and train here," Juma said.
