Dubai: Pakistan shrugged off their loss to India to trounce Kenya 44-21 in the Kabaddi Masters Dubai six-nation tournament at the Al Wasl Sports Club on Sunday.

In another one-sided contest, Korea whipped Argentina 72-16.

Pakistan used their experience to push Kenya into their second successive defeat in the tournament. Muhammad Nadeem was brilliant with his raids and picked eight points. He was well supported by his team’s defence which ensured that Kenya raiders do not amass points.

Pakistan began by playing cautiously and picking a 3-1 lead. Through Nadeem’s raid point in the 10th minute Pakistan swelled the lead to 6-2. In the 11th minute, Pakistan inflicted an all out in the 11th minute to slowly take control of the match.

Pakistan exposed Kenya’s weak defence through their brilliant raiders. In the 16th minute too Pakistan inflicted an all out and extend the lead to 18 points. Wen Nadeem scored a two-point raid in the 20th minute, Pakistan lead became 23-5.

Kenya managed a two-point raid in the 25th minute, thanks to Victor Obieno. Still Kenya trailed 9-27. Much was expected of Kenya captain David Mosambayi but he scored just one point in the first 30 minutes of the match.

When Pakistan inflicted another all out in the 32nd minute the lead swelled to 36-10. In the 36th minute, Kenya produced a super raid to increase their points but still trailed 16-38. Pakistan slackened a bit at this stage and Kenya utilised it to score some points. In the end Pakistan won by 44-21 margin.

Korea’s thrashed Argentina (72-16) mainly due to Gyung Tae Kim’s super 10 and ending up with 13 points. Argentina could open their account only in the sixth minute after Korea had taken a 11-0 lead and at half-time, Korea were already ahead 44-6.
