Dubai: Hussain Hassan Al Ahbabi won the shooting championship organised at the Al Ain Palm Sports Resort last week.
Al Ahbabi ended clear of runner-up Saif Mohammad Saif Al Nuaimi and Hamad Ahmad Mejren in the trap competition.
In the Skeet competition, Khalid Saeed Salem Al Ka'abi took the top spot followed by Saeed Salim Abdullah Al Aryani and Obaid Musbah Khudaim Al Nuaimi in second and third places respectively. Saif Mohammad Al Farsi emerged champion in the pistol competition, followed by Abdullah Sultan Al Aryani in second place and Mohammad Hussein in third place.
Junior champions
In the junior championship, Mane Humaid Al Shamsi shone brightest taking the title followed by Ali Saif Al Shamsi as runner-up, while Mohammad Abdullah Sultan Al Aryani came in third.
The UAE's Olympic shooting champion Shaikh Ahmad Hasher Al Maktoum praised the venue in Al Ain. "We can be proud of this complex," Shaikh Ahmad said.
Shaikh Ahmad gave away the prizes to the winners accompanied by Saif Mane Shamsi, board member of the Al Ain Palm Sports Resort Manager.
Meanwhile, the Qatar national team will hold a training camp at the Al Ain Palm Sports Resort in October as part of their preparations for the Asian Games in China.
