The stars of Pakistani comedy Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, including big names such as Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa and Mawra Hocane, brought in a liberal dash of glamour and glitz to the Gulf News office on Thursday evening as they discussed their latest film with admirable ease and charm.

Saeed was a part of the six-actor entourage who arrived into Dubai that afternoon from London to promote their Eid release and was accompanied by talents Kubra Khan, Vasay Chaudhry and Ahmad Ali Bhatt.

JPNA 2 is one of the most anticipated Pakistani films this Eid as its 2014 original had set the box-office on fire with its ribald humour about a bunch of men who head to Bangkok to escape their nagging partners. The flashy sequel, which has retained a majority of its major players including Saeed and Bhatt, is similar in tone and sticks to the theme of friendship, bromance, bonding, finding love and being forced to grow up. The trailer also indicates Saeed’s character falling in love with an Indian girl, thus adding a cross-cultural love story angle.

This installment is also one of the rare films in Pakistani that explored the man-child movie terrain and remains one of Pakistan’s highest grossers. The original, which opened to mixed reviews, was likened a zany blend of Hollywood hit Hangover and Bollywood friendship classic Dil Chahta Hai.

The stars are not leaving anything to chance as they embark on a promotion blitzkrieg in the UAE this weekend. Local organisers, Parallel Lines, confirmed to tabloid! that the stars would also make club appearances at cruise liner Queen Elizabeth 2 later that night along with appearances at the Vox Cinemas in Sharjah City Centre and Deira City Centre on Friday.
