Hyderabad: Outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist, the biggest ultra leftist armed organisation in the country, has called for the boycott of the coming assembly elections in Telangana terming them fake and lashed out at all the political parties including the incumbent Telangana Rashtra Samiti and the main opposition Congress.

In a letter sent to the media, Telangana state committee secretary Haribhushan asked the people to “boycott the elections to ensure the success of the new democratic revolution”.

The under ground organisation, whose armed attacks in several states have killed more than 20,000 people over the last two decades alleged that the caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was hand in glove with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat to manipulate the elections.

Haribhushan also alleged that KCR had given the slogan of “Bangaru (Golden) Telangana” at the behest of the World Bank and was working solely for his own family. KCR decided to go for early elections nine months before the expiry of the present term because he had failed to fulfil his promises and public resentment was increasing.

CPI Maoist, which was formed in 2005 by merging the CPIML (People’s War) and Maoist Communist Centre (MCC), does not believe in the electoral democracy and advocates armed struggle and revolution.

This is the first time that they have called for a poll boycott ever since the armed left ultras were uprooted from Andhra Pradesh and forced to flee to neighbouring states during the 2005-2007 operation.

Targeting the opposition Grand Alliance comprising of Congress, Telugu Desam, CPI and Telangana Jana Samiti, Haribhushan said that the alliance was not going to achieve any thing. Prof Kodandaram, who heads the newly floated TJS also came under attack from Maoists. “Kodandaram who has illusion of parliamentary democracy, by joining the alliance has reached his destination,” the letter said.

By joining the Congress and the TDP in the alliance, the CPI and the TJS were mobilising votes for bourgeoisie parties, he said. He also slammed the left parties for hankering after power instead of working to solve the problems of the people.

The letter has come at a time when the Maoists have set the alarm bells ringing both in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by killing a ruling TDP legislator in Visakhapatnam last month. Both the states were already under high alert and security vigil has been increased.

Another letter from Maoists has also come to light in Andhra Pradesh attributing the killing of TDP MLA Kidari Sarveshwara Rao and his associate former MLA Siveri Soma to rampant quarrying leading to pollution in the tribal areas and lack of any development.

The letter signed by Gopi, secretary Galikonda area committee, also alleged that police was indulging in atrocities against the tribal people. The letter alleged the slain MLA as well as other TDP leaders including Ayanna Patrudu was also involved in quarrying of bauxite.
