Dubai: Decapitated body of an unidentified woman was found in the toilet of a passenger train in India on Wednesday. Her head was found some twenty kilometres away on railway tracks. The incident occurred in the Indian state of Orissa.

The train was about to depart from Puri railway station at 6.30am when some passengers noted the headless body in the toilet and informed the railway police.

Railway Protection Force officials confirmed they received the call in the morning. The bogie was attached to Khurda Puri Express on Tuesday that arrived at the Puri station next morning.

Indian media reports the woman to be in her 40s, quoting local officials. Her identity is being verified. A forensic team has also arrived at the scene to conduct further investigations.
