In Dubai, ‘Regulation No. (4) of 2008 Concerning The Use and Licensing of Recreational Motorbikes/Quad Bikes in the Emirate of Dubai’ provides the details of the minimum age of a quad bike rider as well as other safety precautions that need to be adhere to.

Rules for riders

A recreational motorbike or quad bike rider must meet the following requirements:

1. Be at least 16 years old. Individuals below this age may use recreational motorbikes or quad bikes under the supervision of a guardian.

2. Be mentally and physically fit to ride the recreational motorbikes or quad bikes.

3. Be familiar with the operating and riding rules of recreational motorbikes or quad bikes.

4. Wear the special outfit for riding recreational motorbikes or quad bikes, including a protective helmet.

Insurance needed

If you are planning to buy a quad bike, you would need to apply for the quad bike’s registration as well as a comprehensive insurance coverage, as per Article 6 of the law on quad bikes in Dubai. Such coverage must be issued by an insurance company that is recognised in the Emirate.
